Since 1947, this little cherub has watched over Christmas shoppers perched on the Ayres clock in downtown Indianapolis.
Apparently, after LSAyres was bought by the May Co. in 1992, the cherub was shipped off to the May HQ warehouse in St. Louis.
The Hoosier public outcry was so great that the May Co. donated the cherub to the city of Indianapolis in 1994.
It continues to appear on the clock each Thanksgiving to preside over the holiday season ‘until Santa takes over on Christmas Eve.’ Have you spotted the Cherub yet? by smjoyceindy http://ift.tt/IC2ks7
